Islamische Gemeinden Frankfurt e.V. Abubakr-Moschee in Hausen district of Frankfurt was named after Abu Bakr, the first Caliph in the successor of the Prophet Mohammed. Established in 2003, the mosque has been constructed in traditional Islamic architecture, with a spacious prayer room for men (over 300m2, which can be extended a further 150m2). Women are in the second floor gallery in a separate prayer room. Sanitary facilities, dressing rooms and an elevator for the disabled have been built into the mosque, along with a library, a guest room for preachers as well as training rooms and a large kitchen with dining facilities.
