In the beginning, the ICC began in a small room in Bjolsen street at Sagene, where regular meetings on Sundays with sermons and lectures in Quran and Sunnah also took place. The group of a few grew relatively quickly to a group of 30-40 men, which led to the ICC had to acquire new premises in the basement of the People's House. Only in 1974 did the ICC finally fixed premises in Karl Johans gate. The Afghan Imam Sabghatullah Mujaddadi led the first Friday prayers in the new mosque premises in Oslo, many believe that this is the first official Friday prayer in Norwegian history. ICC also has the distinction of having the first Taraweeh in Norway.
